Norm, version 1.2.0
Privacy
Norm is made by RidgePilot and is not affiliated with OpenAI. Opening ridgepilot.co from the extension sends no usage data.
Norm does not read prompts, conversation contents, or ChatGPT responses. It does not read browsing history, the clipboard, or keystrokes. It does not require an account. There is no analytics. There is no remote code.
The only site Norm runs on is https://chatgpt.com/. A normal click is not inspected. Ctrl-click, Cmd-click, middle-click, and Shift-click are inspected only enough to tell whether the control is the New chat button: tag, href, aria-label, title, and short visible text. If it is, Norm opens https://chatgpt.com/ in a new tab or window.
On the device, Norm stores an install date, a count of successful opens, the number of active days, settings, and whether the first-run note and the optional email note were dismissed. Those counts are not sent anywhere.
After 30 successful opens on at least 3 different days, Norm may ask for an email so the person can hear about the next fix. Not now is always available and is not asked again after they skip or send. Norm does not ask on install.
If they submit an email, the browser asks permission to contact https://formspree.io. Norm does not have that permission until they allow it. The request contains only that address. Formspree delivers it to RidgePilot. Norm also stores that address on the device.
Debug logging is off until localStorage newChatExtensionDebug is set to 1 on that tab. Norm does not read other localStorage keys.
